a slice of brooklyn

today i went to slice of brooklyn on franklin ave to get a slice of pizza and a chicken cheesesteak. but then i saw the chalkboard - $5 fish and onion ring special! i love the pizza, so this time i skipped the chicken cheesesteak so i could try the fish and onion rings. now, i was somewhat displeased to discover that they only gave me a few onion rings, but i did get too pieces of fish and the onion rings were scrumptious. very crunchy breaded exterior, oil saturated but light, with a nice sweet onion on the inside that had a little crunch of its own.

Delicious Rings at Soda Bar

All onion rings are good with a $3 beer special, but these onion rings are REALLY good. The attentive waitress brought out a whole lot of rings piled high in a paper lined plastic basket. Adjectives to describe these rings - crispy, crunchy, light, sweet and SALTY. It seems that the back-of-the-house peeps at Soda Bar sprinkle these babies with salt hot from the fryer. Try these!
